Today, November 3rd 2014, we celebrate the 60th anniversary of the release of Godzilla. In that time, what started as a noirish horror film about the follies of the atomic bomb grew to become a cultural icon. Representing a whole country for the rest of the world, the enduring nature of Godzilla became a subsection of pop culture. Leading the way for other creations like Gamera and Ultraman. 27 Japanese films and 2 American attempts and the Godzilla is still going strong after all these years. So here’s to 60 more
