Brett Rogers signs with Bellator

It’s the sign of the times people.  Bellator is slowly becoming the TNA of the MMA world.  But, that’s not a bad thing.  Bellator has put on some really good fights… they just don’t have the exposure that UFC has.  But, that will all soon change when they move to Spike at the end of the year.  Once there, they have a very good chance of truly becoming THE number 2 MMA promotion in North America.  (I don’t count Strikeforce anymore)

And where there’s pastures, there’s fighters willing to go.  King Mo just recently signed with the promotion, and I’m sure as fly’s love shit, that more guys who either quit or are kicked out of UFC/Strikeforce will end up in Bellator as well.  Case in point, today’s news that former Strikeforce heavyweight Brett Rogers has signed with the company.

Rogers, who’s last fight with a major promotion was a losing bout against Josh Barnett in the first rounds of the Strikeforce Grand Prix.  Rogers, who was undefeated till he met Fedor Emelianenko in the cage, and since then, hasn’t had the best of luck.  Both inside the cage and outside.  The man is currently coming off a 60 day jail sentence for a domestic violence conviction, so there’s a long road a head to the once former glory days he held.  But, that’s what second chances are for.  He might prove to be a great asset for Bellator in their heavyweight division.  Most of all, he’s a name, and right now, that’s what Bellator needs.
