It’s official. After his war with Shogun Rua, Dan Henderson get’s his first shot at UFC gold since he took on Anderson Sliva back at UFC 82. Dana White tweeted that Dan will take on UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones in the main event of UFC 151 in Las Vegas on September.
Jones, coming off a win against Rashad Evans, possibly faces his toughest challenge yet. Henderson is on a 4 fight win streak, including wins over Fedor and Shogun. Out of Jone’s last few opponents for his belt, Henderson poses the biggest risk due to his knock out power and iron jaw. Henderson should prove more of a fight for Jones than previous opponent Evans, who didn’t do much in his attempt at Jone’s belt.
Either way, I expect Jones vs Henderson to be a sleeper hit of the year.
