FINALLY! A honest to God trailer for The Rum Diary. The adaptation of the Hunter S Thompson book with Johnny Depp back in the Hunter role. Only problem, the stupid fucking ET logo down at the bottom.

Few things. This looks awesome. For some people who are wondering why this isn’t more Fear and Loathing, its’ because Hunter wrote this book before that one. It’s a little more fictitious than his previous works, but still based on his early days in Puerto Rico in the 50’s. Also, it’s no where near as out there as Fear and Loathing either, but still has that Thompson charm and whit to it’. Finally, I’m just happy to see Depp doing Thompson again. When his voice broke over the trailer, a huge smile went over my face.
This baby opens in October, so no waiting for next year like I initially thought. Good fucking times!
