Sushi Typhoon’s Alien vs Ninja is exactly the awesome showcase of schlock that you would expect. It delivers on everything that the title says. Aliens fighting Ninjas. While low budget, it’s got a heart of gold and blood to go with it. Seems that some folks have taken a shine to Seiji Chiba’s film and have decided to remake it here in the good ol US of A.
Phoenix Pictures and Arnold Messer have secured the remake rights for a new, some what bigger budget. While this seems like an odd film to have remade, I would trust in Messer when it comes to small time films. He did after all produce Black Swan.
No word on a creative team, or when this thing goes into production. I am curious to think that this has all come about due to the upcoming Cowboys and Aliens. Perhaps a cash in on another period piece alien film. Though Cowboys and Aliens has more of an American flare to it than Alien vs Ninja.
