After a run online, Funimation has acquired Gainax’s latest opus, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. The series about two fallen angels trying to earn their way back into heaven. Much like Gainax’s other work, it was full of insane concepts that only they could pull off.

Funimation made the announcement via their web site. Currently, there’s a page dedicated to the series, but no word on release. One would assume a DVD release with a dub and a good amount of goodies. One would assume either late this year or early next. If you haven’t watched Panty and Stocking, holy fuck are you missing out.
