I’m ashamed to say, that I haven’t watched Stephan Chow’s CJ7. From what I was told, it was his real aim at a family film. I guess it was successful. At least in it’s homeland. Here in America, it got dumped by Sony, who after the success of Kung Fu Hustle, would be a little more appreciative of Chow’s efforts.
So here we are, some 3 years after the release of CJ7. China is getting a nice animated sequel to the film. Twitch has the heads up on the trailer, and it looks fun as hell. Chow’s slap stick cartoon style easily translates to, well, a cartoon. It opens next month in China.
