Sad.. but like every tragedy, there’s laughter to be had!
So NASA was launching this brand new $2 million dollar telescope in the Australian outback. People were there to watch as man once again braved the unknown and aimed to prevail with science! Man was spitting in God’s eye, this time, he blinked.
As the balloon took off, it vered off course, and dragged the payload about 450 feet, knocking over a car and crashing about the ground before coming to a stop. Incredible footage.

It’s always sad to see set backs like this. One little gleam of hope, the telescope and inner workings of the instruments remained relatively intact. Back to the drawing board for our proud Nerds.
