Welcome to the first TNA Live event the night starts off nicely
1st match: Bobby Roode vs Sting in a lumberjack match. Pretty good match both men went back and forth Sting leading in the begining but Roode kept tossing him outside the ring where the heel side would beat on Sting after a few minutes Sting hit the scorpion death drop followed up by the death lock and Roode taps out. Winner Sting by way of submission. A clean win for Sting.
Hogan comes out and announces that at Slammiversary Sting will face Bobby Roode for the Title. “Brother”. Back from commercial Madison Ryane is seen talking about the changes coming to the Divas of TNA. Bully Ray comes out and cuts a promo and calls out Joseph Park aka Abyss he challenges Parks to a fight, Parks gets in the ring but refuses to fight Ray, Ray comments saying “Maybe I change my verdict on your bother” and claims he left him for dead! Parks grabs Ray but he get out after stating to sue Parks if he hits him. Ray leaves the ring but Parks challenges him to a match tonight but Ray moves it to Slammiversary.
After commercial break Crimson spot showing his win streak.
2nd Match: Chris Sabin vs Double A Austin Aries for the X division title. Great match Sabin come close Austin Aries picks up the win with a roll up from the fireman’s carry. retains the title
Taz approaches Hogan and says hes grateful for letting him be part of the Gut check challenge and interviewing the talent that’s coming to the show. Hogan goes on to say that this gutcheck is the “Future” they cut to judges Al Snow, Taz and Bruce Prichard in a sort of think tank. they discuss Joey Ryan who debuted last week against Austin Aries. They continue to talk and it ends saying “Its a dream a lifestyle change, we’ll see what happens.”
After the comercail break we come back with Jeremy Borash standing with RVD, Mr. Anderson, Robbie E with Robbie T, and Jeff Hardy to tell the fans to vote to see who will face Devon for the TV title later tonight. Dixie Carter makes her way to the ring she comments how in 10 days that TNA will be 10 years old and how she is proud of everyone in the business. She also announces that that at Slammiversary they will announce the TNA hall of fame and the first inductee. Dixie talk up Brook and out comes Brook Hogan! Not much said here but huge changes are coming! Christopher Daniels and Kazarian are seen making comments about AJ and Dixie.
After commercial break they show Christian Cage making his jump to TNA
3rd Match: Devon Vs Jeff Hardy for the TV title. Winner Devon by DQ. Robbie E and T hit the ring and attack Devon and Jeff. Good match cause the Jeff and Devon have been around the block. Weak finish.
Update on cowboy James Storm. Short interview had his daughter with him the hold time ending goes as such “Daddy are you going back to wrestling?” James then cuts the cameras. Heart felt speech.
Gut check time! welcoming Al Snow, Taz and Bruce Prichard. They then introduce Joey Ryan comes down to the ring cocky and full of it, this part lagged lots of things said but a no go for Joey Ryan back to minors. Joey Ryan gets in Taz’s face and calls him out Taz shrugs it off and we say goodbye to Joey Ryan. Bruce Prichard said No, Al Snow said Yes, Taz said No…HELL NO.
4th and Final Match of the night A.J. Styles vs Christopher Daniels. Great match Winner A.J. Styles! Kazarian comes in and attacks Styles. Angle flies down the ramp and help A.J. but Daniels and Kazarian stop Angle and tie him to the rope with a ZIP tie (Which the announcers had no idea what that was) They then run a phone conversation between Dixie and A.J. talking about a secret meeting. Dixie comes out and says cut the message off she screams turn it off as the show comes to end.
Through the looking glass: I like TNA and going live is a great move, the crowed love it and seemed on fire tonight, they emphasized how much they were live tonight which is fine seeing as they may have drawn a new crowd. Kicking things off with Sting and Roode in a lumber jack match at the start of the show was a bit of WTF but I guess at the end it all came full circle. The Bully Ray and Parks/Abyss storyline needs to end, Ray can be used for such better things then this if you asked me a few months ago Ray could be a champ I would say hell no, now I can see it. Crimsons win streak needs to end, enough your killing the guy, that’s all I can say about the guy. Now to the X division title, I LOVE THE X Division, this was one of the things that drew me to TNA I love these guys Great matches as always and now with Shelly leaving it looks like Chris Sabin is getting a push. I see him the next X champ in coming months but that my thought. ON to the gut check thing…I LIKE IT! its a great concept and something new its like WWE’s NXT meets American Idol. I like the fact that new talent can be brought in any time and getting a fresh wrestler week to review is great, this is nice idea I wanna see where they go with it. Dixie’s speech about the 10 years of TNA was great the fact that they are starting a hall of fame is nice, but we will see how that plays out after all WWE is so prestige already but guys who never wrestled there would never be in it and I would love to see Sting in a Hall of Fame you know its coming whose with me! Brooks debut was great she didn’t say much but what was expected nice little intro video by the way footage of her tearing a hogan shirt off her caught my eye for sure. With her years of being around the biz I’m invested to see where this goes. As for showing the Christan Cage footage shocked me, I didn’t see that coming but sometimes at least for me its great to Christan get the credit he deserves. I wont say anything about the TV title match it was what it was I’ve seen them do that dance far to many times. The interview with James Storm was nice to see they still care about him considering we haven’t seen him in a bit but is he coming back I think so but using the daughter to put him over I don’t know about that. A.J. and Daniels have danced so many times my mind almost tunes out, a great match with a crabby ending I didn’t really care why? cause I’ve seen A.J. and Chris go at it so damn much. The Dixie and A.J. thing is also lack luster and I’m just waiting for it to end. OK that’s my view. see you all next week.
