As Dana White was boarding his plane to Atlanta, he made the announcement we all knew that was coming: Overeem has been pulled from the main event slot against Junior Dos Santos. Frank Mir, who’s coming off a massive, and brutal win against Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira. There’s been nothing but speculation since Overeem failed his random drug test, but with such high levels, it’s pretty much a given that he will not be cleared to fight next month.
So this leaves the question of Cain Velasquez. He is now with out an opponent for 146, which is all heavyweights. Could Dana be holding out hope that Overeem will get licensed and will fight Cain, or some one else is waiting to step up to take Mir’s spot against Cain. Either way, Overeem is still a massive, dumb douche bag.
