Details emerge for Takashi Miike’s PHOENIX WRIGHT

Filed under: What the fuck?  At the beginning of the week, Takashi Miike announced he was at work on a new courtroom movie… that happened to be based on a video game.  Well, if you do some simple math, the only major court room game out there is Capcom’s Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney series.  As of today, that is all confirmed.

Tokyograph published the full official details, including casting for the film:

As initially believed, Miike Takashi will direct the film, with Narimiya Hiroki starring as the protagonist Naruhodo Ryuichi (known as Phoenix Wright in the English version of the games). Narimiya’s supporting cast includes Kiritani Mirei as Ayasato Mayoi (Maya Fey) and Saito Takumi as rival Mitsurugi Reiji (Miles Edgeworth).

There’s also mention that there’s going to be use of CG in the film too.  My surmising that Miike, who loves weird shit in his films, will probably have the large OBJECTION! word balloons running across the screen and possibly killing someone might turn out to be quite right.  Miike is a man of madness and genius all rolled into one cluster fuck of an awesome director.  This film sound too good to be true, and my eye’s are now jonesin like a junkie for this.

Expect Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney in early 2012
